traveling

I don't like, I LOVE to TRAVEL. Traveling has been a part of me since I was a baby. Every summer, My family has packed up the family van(turned small car in later years) and gone across the country, every which way. As I grew older, my sister stopped coming, then my brothers, and then it was just me and my parents. When I was younger i didnt think a great deal about it, just that i saw lots of different things and that I thought it was sweet. But getting in to highschool, I saw it as a part of me, and maybe slightly as a way of life. I can't imagine a year going by without going somewhere at least 3 states away. Ive been to 46 states, and most of them, Ive been to multiple times.I just love to see aall the different landscapes, people, and climates. It interests me greatly. Not only am I wanderer, Im a wonderer. Anything sets curiosity in me;-an animal, a tree, a building. Anything. I love to see new things and i love learning about everything.

Global Warming

Let's face it: Global warming is most likely real. Now the people telling us(i.e.-al gore)maybe not so real. A lot of the facts and the data given to the public can be very misleading and very scary about our future here on Earth. I'm all about being more friendly to the Earth everything, but come on, let's set this straight without confusion. The people behind these ads are infusing fear into the american public to try and get them to do something about it. I do not agree with this type of persuation at all.People complain about president Bush scaring the public about the war in Iraq, but they aren't complaing about this.
NASA claims that the temperature of Earth with rise 6-10 degrees farrenheit in the next hundred years. The United Nations panel on Global Warming shows that the Earth will rise 2.4 degrees Celcius. Now, I don't know if NASA bothered with a calculator or if they just decided to take a guess at the conversion between farrenheit and celcius, but 2.4 degrees celcius only converts to 4 degrees farennheit. 2-6 degrees is a BIG difference.
On An Inconvenient Truth, a film endorsed by Al Gore, is very misleading. The first problem I have with this is that he shows a clip of ice shelves in the arctic falling appart. Not that it wouldn't be a bad thing to show, except for the clip he shows is COMPUTER GENERATED! not only is it computer generated, but it is from the move "The Day After Tommorow". All this covered on ABC channel. This just makes Al Gores Accountability go way down.
The next little film that is scary, is The Story Of Stuff by Annie leonard. Its an Internet based 20 minute movie telling us how we really suck at recycling and how we are consuming way to much. Sure I agree, but again i find this to be very misleading. She goes on about how we have cut down all of our trees and blown up all of our mountains...Not the Case. Ive been all around the western part of the united states and miles and miles of forests and mountains still exist. To tell you the truthm i dont really remember seeing any harvested lands. And Most mountains are protected with the national parks system. She makes it seem like there is nothing protected but instead there are 400 protected lands of all kinds under the national parks system. She also says that only 5 percent of our natural forests exist. Now east coast yuppies probably picture the west as mainly forest lands, and with the image of only 5% in their minds, they probably see all cut down tree stubs...Not the case once again. Think about how many different landscapes there are. There are mountains, rolling grasslands, desserts, canyons, the red earth of the south. All are still alive and thriving. The us is till well with original landscapes.
My point is, why doesnt the government just lay out the actual facts? and instead educate us on how to properly take care of out great Earth we live on.

ah, the Candidates....

Obama vs. McCain, it's going to be a close race in November. Ever since McCain chose Sarah Palin as his v.p., McCains numbers started to go up in popularity. It sure was a smart thing for him to chose her. McCain's a pretty liberal republican, a bit ironic right?, and his vp is a hardcore republican so they meet in between as a decent republican couple. Now Obama, hes kind of shifty. One minute he says something, the next minute its different. I just dont know about either of the candidates. This race has become all about A.) race, or B.) sex., IF you dont support Obama, you are racist, and theres beeen tons of sexist comments against Palin, most of them are rediculous. Cant we get over that as a nation? both sex, and race?

Hurricanes

I cannot even begin to fathom what it would be like to be a living victim to a hurricane. In the society we live in, our homes are our sanctuaries and pride. But once you take that away, you are nobody, you have nothing left, and nowhere to live. Your life becomes suddenly broken and everything you have worked on for your whole life is gone in the blink of an eye. Even the poorest of person will have lost something of their life. Not only will you have lost your possesions, but memories; A picture to remind you of that one christmas or birthday. Lives of loved ones could be lost. Hurricanes are deadly.
